What Is iS Clinical Active Serum?
iS Clinical Active Serum is a leave-on corrective serum that combines exfoliating and brightening ingredients.
Its formula includes lactic acid, sugarcane extract, willow bark extract and arbutin. Together, these ingredients support exfoliation, improve visible skin texture and help create clearer, more even-looking skin.
Unlike a straightforward hydrating serum, iS Clinical Active Serum is primarily a corrective resurfacing treatment.
What Does iS Clinical Active Serum Help With?
| Concern | Where Active Serum may fit |
|---|---|
| Congestion and blemishes | Helps improve congestion and uneven skin texture through exfoliating activity |
| Enlarged-looking pores | Improving congestion and surface texture can make pores appear less prominent |
| Rough or uneven texture | Exfoliation helps remove dull surface cells and improve visible texture |
| Uneven tone | Arbutin and exfoliating ingredients support brighter, more even-looking skin |
| Fine lines | Resurfacing can improve skin smoothness and the appearance of fine lines |
The benefit of Active Serum is its multi-targeted approach: it can address congestion and uneven texture while also improving the appearance of uneven tone, fine lines and enlarged-looking pores.
Is iS Clinical Active Serum Good for Acne-Prone Skin?
iS Clinical Active Serum can be a useful skincare option for oily, congested and blemish-prone skin, particularly when blemishes occur alongside uneven texture and enlarged-looking pores.
However, it is important to distinguish blemish-prone skincare from acne treatment.
A cosmetic serum does not replace appropriate medical treatment for acne. Persistent, worsening or unexplained pigmentation should therefore be assessed to establish the cause rather than simply adding more brightening products.
Can iS Clinical Active Serum Help With Pigmentation?
iS Clinical Active Serum may help improve the appearance of uneven tone and post-inflammatory dark marks, particularly because its formula combines resurfacing ingredients with arbutin.
However, not every dark mark is the same. Melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and sun-related pigmentation can have different underlying mechanisms and may require different treatment strategies.
Persistent, worsening or unexplained pigmentation should therefore be assessed to establish the cause rather than simply adding more brightening products.
How Do You Use iS Clinical Active Serum?
Apply 3–4 drops to clean skin on the face and neck. A temporary cooling or tingling sensation may occur after application.
A simple evening routine could be:
Cleanser → iS Clinical Active Serum → Hydrating serum/moisturiser if needed
If you also use retinoids, exfoliating acids or other resurfacing treatments, avoid automatically layering everything together. Consider the cumulative irritation potential and introduce active products according to your skin’s tolerance.
When using exfoliating skincare, daily sunscreen remains important.
Dermatologist’s Perspective
What makes iS Clinical Active Serum particularly useful is its ability to address several concerns with one product.
It can be a good option when congestion, uneven texture, enlarged-looking pores and uneven tone overlap, rather than adding a separate exfoliating product for every concern.
That does not mean everyone needs it. If your skin is sensitive or you already use prescription retinoids, exfoliating acids or other resurfacing treatments, consider your whole routine before introducing another exfoliating product.
And while Active Serum may complement routines for blemishes or pigmentation, persistent acne and pigmentation should be correctly assessed when appropriate rather than relying on skincare alone.
